Purple Nails for Caylee Anthony

I'd like to start off by saying I am heart broken by Caylee Anthony's story, RIP little princess :(

A group of my nail polish addicted friends and I have decided to declare 7/7/2011 "Purple Nails For Caylee Anthony Day" it is an open even on facebook, join in if you'd like!!

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_151159101621001&id=162337523836492&ref=notif¬if_t=group_activity#!/event.php?eid=213496615360521

I decided to do themed nails around things that remind me of little girls, I even asked a couple of my children what reminded them of when their little sisters were first born and/or still little. What we came up with was glitter/hearts, polka dots, baby blankets IE quilts, bows and princess crowns...........when I was done deciding what I wanted I grabbed a ton of different purples and went to work. I did NOT take pictures during each step but I did take a few pics and of course results. (PS - I did not clean up before ANY of my pics.........I tend to do that later while washing my hands :D )

I started off with 1 coat of Qtica NGS, 1 coat of Orly Bonder and a base color of Zoya Marley:

I did everything free hand with stripers and regular polishes, here is an example of how I used free hand to start the crowns on my thumbs:

and this is an example of how sometimes combining two glitters = FAB!! <3 this picture doesn't do it justice *giggles*

and here........is the finished product: (reminder: I did not clean them up for my pics)I also have to add that I got the quilt idea from a mani a saw from another blogger a while back, I can't for the life of me remember who it was, BUT I didn't come up with that on my own.

I used a total of 11 different colored polished and 3 different stripers to complete this mani............a great reason to have a large polish collection, you can create more elaborate manis and have a blast doing it! Of course I wish it wasn't for such a sad cause :( I love my children more than words can express and knowing that this kind of thing happens to children breaks my heart! HUGS AND LOVE sent to a sweet angel girl, little miss Caylee Anthony.
Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog!!

Love and Sparkles,

Debby
